Welcome to The Weekly Ward: Meme Vision, your weekly reconnaissance into the best Dota 2 community humor. Just like a well-placed ward reveals enemy movements, we're here to provide vision into the memes that defined the week. Every seven days, we'll highlight seven standout pieces of community gold that captured the Dota zeitgeist, made us laugh, or perfectly summed up the eternal struggle of Ancient bracket life.

Back when "DotA" had that capital A and you had to navigate Garena like some kind of digital war zone just to get a game going. Veterans from the old times, when "Defense of the Ancients" was still a custom scenario for Warcraft III, remember refreshing lobby lists, dealing with leavers, and the pure chaos of trying to coordinate with teammates who might not even speak the same language. Just goes to show, Dota has always required genuine commitment and a high tolerance for frustration.

Just type: "-ping" in chat. It was a lag spike. It definitely wasn’t missing an arrow at point-blank range.

Sticks and stones might break your bones (probably not, because you've got a basher, AC, deso build), but words will always hurt. It's always "where is NS whole game," but never "how is NS?"

Decisions were made, buttons were pressed. The event referenced is from near the end of Game 4 of Gaimin Gladiators vs BetBoom Team, where pos3 player Ace, swapped out a hero with buyback instead of one without. Sadly, you can't pull off every clutch, and this was the 1% of mistakes that Ace made for the entire Playoffs stage.

Current Pos4 meta might be flexible, but it's not that flexible. Sitting down, cracking open your beverage of choice, and getting matched with individuals like these can kill almost anyone's enjoyment of the game. o7's to everyone experiencing this.

Lost a gem? No problem, Dota+ knows the fix. Just. Buy. 22 more. (Who's playing these? 22*(9 minutes for re-stock) → 198-minute games?)

Ember Spirit, like the rest of his mystical brothers, seems to keep style in mind when doing anything, so flexing with sleight of fist doesn't seem that far-fetched for him. Well done, AgnosticDeist0229, for appearing twice in the inaugural edition of Meme Vision.
That's your meme vision for this week. The community never stops creating, and we'll never stop watching. See you next week for another round of The Weekly Ward, where we'll keep our eyes on the pulse of Dota's finest shitposters and meme artisans.
