Astralis arrive at PGL Bucharest 2026 as the form team of the tournament, and the numbers suggest 3DMAX are walking into a trap.
The head-to-head record tells the clearest story. 3DMAX have won just 20% of their recent encounters against Astralis. That is not a rough patch. That is a structural problem. Astralis have also closed out four straight wins heading into this match, with an 86% winrate over the last month. 3DMAX had a strong run of their own, but two losses in their last five results show cracks forming at exactly the wrong time.
The map pool situation tilts further toward Astralis. Mirage is completely off the table for 3DMAX, removed as a first-ban 100% of the time by opponents. Astralis, meanwhile, own Ancient with a 75% winrate across 16 maps, and their veto control is suffocating. Banning Anubis in 90% of series and first-banning it 96% of the time means they dictate the pool before a single round is played. 3DMAX will be fighting on unfamiliar ground.
Astralis are not without flaws. Their Dust2 and Mirage numbers are poor, but neither of those maps is likely to survive the veto. 3DMAX are a dangerous team on Nuke, and that map could give them a foothold. It will not be enough. Astralis are the sharper, better-structured team right now and the historical head-to-head backs that up completely.
