Astralis enter this closed qualifier clash against Nemesis carrying serious question marks, but the numbers still favour the Danes.
Nemesis show a concerning trend heading into this match. Their winrate has dropped from 66% to 60% in the last month, and their recent form backs that up: two losses in their last five games, including defeats to Alliance and BetBoom. They are a team that relies heavily on comfort picks, banning Anubis at an 85% clip because they simply do not trust themselves on it.
Astralis are not in great shape either. Three straight losses at IEM Cologne Major Stage 2 hurt their momentum, and their Mirage and Dust2 numbers are genuinely poor. But Ancient is a different story entirely. An 81% winrate on that map over the last half-year, with it being a frequent first-pick, gives them a clear structural advantage in a map pool battle against a team already short on options.
The map pool math is where this gets decided. Nemesis lean on Nuke and Ancient as their pillars, but Astralis own Ancient and can contest Nuke. When Nemesis cannot freely ban their way to comfortable ground, they tend to struggle. Astralis have the deeper experience, stronger resources, and at least one elite map to anchor their run.
