M80's superior consistency and map pool depth should overwhelm PassionUA's recent upset momentum in this Group Stage 2 clash at the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025.
PassionUA arrives with impressive scalps against fnatic and MIBR, but their 2-3 record in the last five matches reveals an inconsistency problem that better teams will exploit. M80 brings 75% winrate over the last month and 73% across the entire half-year, showing the kind of sustained excellence that separates pretenders from contenders. PassionUA rely heavily on their Dust2 strength, but that one-dimensional approach leaves them exposed when forced onto other battlegrounds.
The map veto heavily favors the North Americans. M80 dominates Mirage at 82% and Ancient at 77% over the last half-year, while PassionUA's Ancient sits at a disastrous 35% winrate that screams ban-or-lose. PassionUA will likely surrender Ancient immediately, forcing them to either face M80's elite Mirage or risk maps where they lack similar dominance. M80's only weakness is Dust2 at 48%, but they can simply ban it and force PassionUA into uncomfortable territory.
The betting market tells the story clearly with M80 at 1.70 versus PassionUA at 2.16. Recent upset wins don't erase fundamental flaws. PassionUA's Ancient liability and inconsistent form across Stage 2 will catch up with them against an M80 squad that grinds out results regardless of opponent. The Americans have the map pool, the momentum, and the tactical flexibility to close this one out in convincing fashion.
