BLAST Slam is the name of the first Dota 2 tournament organized by BLAST.tv, the company behind some of the biggest tournaments in Counter-Strike and Rainbow Six Siege. It is the first in a circuit of tournaments that will span across 2025 and 2026. Dota 2 hasn’t exactly been on a surge in popularity, but this move might just be what it needs.
BLAST Slam promises to bring a fresh experience for Dota 2 fans, combining studio matches with arena events.
“We are super excited to bring BLAST.tv to Dota fans. We have big plans, and we can’t wait to deliver. The BLAST.tv watch experience will take all the things you love from Twitch and add interactive elements, live stats, and more. We’ll always listen to the fans—if they want specific features, we’ll look to integrate them on our site,” shared Rory McEvoy, Head of Product at BLAST.tv.
Besides adding new interactive elements, BLAST.tv plans to create fresh content around teams and players, an area Dota 2 esports could use. BLAST has already proven its capability, especially with the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 in CS:GO, where Team Vitality won their first Major title.

The tournament will feature ten teams: nine by invitation and one from a community vote. Originally, G2 x IG won the poll, but since they no longer have a Dota 2 roster, the spot passed to Team Spirit.
Team list:
From November 26 to December 1, the top Dota 2 teams will battle it out in Copenhagen for the lion’s share of a million-dollar prize pool. Teams are divided into two groups of five, playing a “King of the Hill” round-robin Bo1 format for seeding. Top teams will advance to the semifinals, 2nd-placed teams to the quarterfinals, and so on. The playoffs will follow a single-elimination bracket with a Bo3 series and a Bo5 final. Here are the dates for the rest BLAST Slam tournaments.

Launched in November 2022, BLAST.tv is an esports streaming platform that serves as a hub for live and on-demand content, mainly focusing on Counter-Strike tournaments, with additional support for games like Rainbow Six Siege, Fortnite, and Rocket League. The platform emphasizes fan engagement with features such as 4K streaming, an interactive timeline for replays, live stats, team standings, moderated chat, and fan polls. BLAST.tv is also designed to complement Twitch broadcasts with a more tailored, immersive experience for dedicated esports fans.

BLAST.tv has grown significantly since its launch, attracting millions of users and expanding its reach with mobile apps for iOS and Android. Will BLAST Slam add to its momentum and usher in a new wave for Dota 2 esports? Fans are about to find out.
