BLAST Rivals 2026 lands right after IEM Rio, and that timing matters more than most people think. Form is fresh, confidence is high for some teams, and completely shattered for others. This is where smart Pick'ems players gain an early edge.
The group stage relies more on solid predictions and a strong foundation, rather than flashy picks. With a GSL format and Bo3 matches across the board, consistency wins you points, while a few well-timed risks can separate you from the pack.
If you want to build monthly rankings from day one, this is where it starts.
Two groups of four teams. Double elimination. Every match is a Bo3. Top three advance, but only the group winners go straight to the semi-finals.
That one detail defines your strategy.
Teams that top their group offer maximum consistency. They play fewer matches later, which reduces risk in long-term Pick'ems scoring.
At this stage, your goal is simple. Choose battles wisely. Lock in safe points early, then identify one or two calculated risks.
Group A features Vitality, G2, Astralis, and FUT. On paper, it looks straightforward. In practice, second place is wide open.
Vitality vs FUT
Vitality enter as the best team in the world after their dominant IEM Rio run. Their map pool is deep, their CT sides are elite, and their clutch situations are unmatched.
ZywOo is in MVP form, and the team structure around him is functioning perfectly.
FUT are outmatched in both firepower and tactical depth.

Safe Pick: Vitality
This is one of the easiest calls in the entire group stage. Do not overthink it.
G2 vs Astralis
This is where your Pick'ems decisions start to matter.
G2 bring explosive T sides and strong entry power. They can overwhelm teams early in maps. The problem is closing games. At Rio, they repeatedly lost control in late rounds.
Astralis are the opposite. Structured, disciplined, and less reliant on individuals. They win by limiting mistakes rather than forcing plays.

Safe Pick: G2 Risk Pick: Astralis
If you are protecting points, lean G2. If you want to separate from the pack, Astralis winning through structure is a realistic upset.
Vitality should comfortably top the group. The fight for second comes down to G2 versus Astralis, with FUT likely falling short.

Projected outcome:
Group B is the real test. FURIA, NAVI, FaZe, and GamerLegion all have viable paths.
This is where you decide whether you play safe or push for leaderboard gains.
NAVI vs FaZe
NAVI are still dealing with the same issue we saw at IEM Rio. Strong setups, good map control, but weak late-round execution.

FaZe thrive in chaos. When games become scrappy, their individuals take over.
Safe Pick: NAVI Risk Pick: FaZe
If NAVI clean up their closing, they win. If not, FaZe can absolutely steal this series. Also, note that this will be their first big outing without Karrigan in the roster.

FURIA vs GamerLegion
FURIA remain one of the most consistent teams outside of Vitality. Their calling is sharp, their individuals are confident, and they have shown they can handle pressure.

GamerLegion are disciplined but lack the same ceiling.
Safe Pick: FURIA
Another strong opportunity to lock in points.
FURIA should lead the group based on form. NAVI are still the safer bet for second, but FaZe are the key wildcard.

Projected outcome:
Map vetoes will play a huge role in these Bo3 series. Teams like Vitality and FURIA benefit from deeper pools, while others rely on comfort picks.
CT side stability is still the biggest indicator of success. At Rio, teams that could not hold defensive setups consistently lost winnable maps.
Clutch situations remain the difference-maker. Vitality win them. NAVI struggle with them. That alone should influence your decisions.
If you want consistency, build around Vitality and FURIA. These are your anchor picks.
If you want to climb, target volatile matches like G2 vs Astralis and NAVI vs FaZe. These are the decision points where most players will split.
If you want to win the leaderboard, you need at least one bold call. Backing FaZe over NAVI or Astralis over G2 are the types of plays that create separation.
This is where Pick'ems becomes a strategy game, not just predictions.
Make your calls count.
