Here is the most important thing to understand about the EWC 2026 CS2 group stage before you lock a single pick: the bracket structure within each group means your two strongest teams do not have to beat each other to advance. They are drawn on opposite sides, which means Spirit and G2, Falcons and FaZe, Vitality and MOUZ, and NAVI and FURIA can all qualify from their respective groups without ever meeting in the upper bracket.

Group A: Back Both Spirit and G2

Team Spirit are the first name on your Pick'ems sheet. Their LAN consistency, structural discipline, and ability to impose their game on any opponent make them the safest first-place pick in the entire tournament. In Group A, Spirit open against JiJieHao on the upper bracket side, a match they should win comfortably, and from there they have a clear path to qualifying without being tested until the group stage is nearly over.

The reason to back G2 with equal confidence is exactly what the bracket shows you. G2 face M80 on their side of the draw, which is a very different proposition from running into Spirit in round one. HeavyGod and company have the firepower to handle that path, and even if G2 drop a match early and fall to the lower bracket, the double-elimination format gives them a safety net. Back G2 to navigate through and qualify alongside Spirit.

The remaining sides of Group A, LG, GL, BIG, and Aurora, do not have the individual quality or collective structure to block either of these teams.

Both Spirit and G2 advance. Lock them both.

Group B Is Where Your Double Pick Pays Off

Group B looks intimidating on paper. Falcons, K27, MIBR, Astralis, BB, FaZe, NIP, and Legacy make for a competitive field. But the bracket structure does the same thing here as it does in Group A: Falcons and FaZe are drawn on opposite sides, meaning neither one has to eliminate the other to reach the playoffs.

Falcons open against K27 on the upper bracket side. K27 earned their spot through the open qualifier and will compete hard, but Falcons are a significantly more developed side with the structure and firepower to handle that match and push through to qualify from the upper bracket path. Back them as your Group B first seed.

FaZe face BB on their side of the draw. Karrigan's experience at events of this scale is a genuine structural advantage, and with the lower bracket as a fallback if anything goes wrong, FaZe have every reason to grind through to a second playoff spot. The double-elimination format suits experienced rosters, and FaZe have been here more times than almost anyone in the field.

Group C: Vitality and MOUZ Are Your Safest Double Lock

If Group B is where you take your calculated risks, Group C is where you build your points base. Vitality and MOUZ are the two strongest teams in the group by a meaningful margin, and they are structured on opposite sides of the bracket which means both can qualify without facing each other in the group stage.

Vitality under apEX bring a tactical coherence that ages well through a longer format. They should be your first-place pick out of Group C and one of the most comfortable ticks on your entire bracket sheet. MOUZ complement them perfectly from a Pick'ems perspective: mechanically dangerous, fast-developing, and on a separate bracket path that keeps them clear of Vitality until the group is nearly decided.

Back Vitality first, MOUZ second. This is the group where both picks should feel close to automatic.

Group D: NAVI and FURIA Both Have Clear Routes

Group D closes out the group stage picture. NAVI are the top pick here. The pedigree, the LAN experience, and the motivation to perform on a stage as prominent as EWC all point in one direction. Back NAVI to qualify from Group D and do not overthink it.

FURIA are the Pick'ems story in this group. Their aggressive, high-tempo style is exactly the kind of game that disrupts teams who have not prepared for it specifically, and in a double-elimination format where they only need to stay alive long enough to qualify, their ceiling is more relevant than their floor. FURIA's best CS is good enough to earn a playoff spot, and with a bracket that keeps them away from NAVI until the very end, they have the path to do it.
